UBC Kinesiology students and faculty gathered on Friday, October 27th, 2023, at the Chan Gunn Pavilion to hear Frida Austmo Wågan — a visiting Ph.D. student with UBC’s Centre for Sport & Sustainability and the School of Kinesiology, through UBC Global’s Visiting International Research Student Program — discuss her PhD research and her research group at Nord University in Bodø, Norway.
Frida explained her PhD research on environmental activism among international professional football/soccer players and a grassroots football organization in Norway. She also shared about the research group she is part of, Research Group for Sport & Society (RESPONSE). Thank you for the great talk, Frida!
